North Aegean Slops S.A. was immediately mobilized to response to an\u00a0oil pollution incident that contaminated a tank that provides drinking\u00a0water in the city of Thessaloniki. As instructed by Thessaloniki Water Supply & Sewerage Co. S.A. (EYATH SA), on 14.01.2018, specialized scientific and technical staff of our company came to the contaminated\u00a0sites, along Aliakmonas river (Ag. Varvara, Vrachia, Sindos, Tank D2)\u00a0and assessed the situation in terms of antipollution equipment, means\u00a0and methods. Then, supported by floating and land means, special\u00a0absorbent materials, oil recovery mechanisms and floating booms have\u00a0been applied, minimizing in such way the risk and restoring the\u00a0initial water quality conditions. The anti-pollution project continues\u00a0until today as a precaution and is expected to be completed in the near future.<\/p>\n
