New Action

“Echedorou Physis” dropped an “anchor” on the coastal promenade of Ierissos, successfully completing an original, interactive educational action, in which North Aegean Slops participated as a co-organizer.

The event was a strong attraction for dozens of tourists, residents and especially young children, with the main goal of reducing plastic and protecting our coasts. The action focused on the “invisible” but extremely dangerous threat of microplastics. Through experiential learning, visitors were informed about a serious environmental issue that requires the awareness of all of us, as plastic has been proven to harm public health and marine organisms.

Participants had the opportunity to take part in four interactive workshops:

“See up close what’s hidden in the sand”: Visitors observed microplastics through a digital microscope, making the problem visible.

“How long will I be here?”: An interactive knowledge game on an artificial sand beach that revealed the environmental footprint of common waste.

“I change my mind – I make the right choice”: Comparing everyday products and shifting towards more sustainable consumption habits

“What did I know – What did I learn”: A quick, digital quiz on microplastics and good practices that we can adopt immediately.

The protection of the marine ecosystem and the fight against plastic pollution are at the heart of this year’s summer activities of the environmental group “Echedorou Physis”. As an active member of society, “Echedorou Physis” promotes ecological awareness.
